As a partner with JRD & Associates, Inc., FirstPic, Inc. provided training and technical assistance to public housing agencies (PHAs) and housing non-profit organizations facilitating the purchase of HUD Real Estate Owned (REO) properties. These properties were Federal Housing Administration (FHA) foreclosures and were occupied by Hurricane Katrina and Rita evacuees. FirstPic, Inc. coordinated services, regulations and policies of FHA, PIH, and Community Planning and Development (CPD) with the local purchasing PHA or housing non-profit organization. During a one-year period, over 100 properties were sold by HUD to local PHAs and non-profit housing organizations.
